The Ice Hotel, nestled in the village of JUKKASJARVI in Northern Sweden is approximately 17 km. from KIRUNA. KIRUNA has an airport connecting different towns of Sweden. The Ice Hotel is accessible by road from KIRUNA airport.

Experience

I planned this Scandinavian excursion with my family, during the winters. I was always fascinated with the “AURORAS” and I ensured that we would stay at the Ice Hotel to sight this wonder, and we did! It was a natural wonder, experienced in complete darkness. The icing on the cake was snow mobiling on a frozen lake in @ -36 degrees C, followed by hot supper in a cozy home besides the lake!

Travel Tips

  • Best time to visit with the family is, between October to March to catch the northern lights and experience the Ice Hotel.
  • Thermal body suits with footwear are provided by the Ice Hotel for each and every individual, age no bar, to keep you completely warmed up.
  • Advisable to carry appropriate head gear for young ones.
  • ICE HOTEL, JUKKASJARVI, SWEDEN needs to be pre booked atleast a year in advance due to limited capacity. So, hurry !
